These bots turn text you send on WhatsApp or Telegram into a spoken voice note. This page explains exactly what happens to your messages. If anything here is unclear, you can get in touch (details at the end).
What we receive
Only what you send the bot: the text itself, a technical message id, and the identifier the platform uses to reach you — your phone number on WhatsApp, or your chat/user id on Telegram. We cannot see your other chats, and we cannot see your contacts.
What we do with it
The text is sent to the speech engine to produce an audio file, and that file is sent back to you. That is it. The text is not used to train models, is not sold, and is not shared with anyone beyond the services listed below.
What is stored, and for how long
- The audio file is deleted from our server immediately after it is sent to you.
- The text is kept by us for at most 7 days, and only to improve speech quality (for example, to see which kinds of text are not pronounced well). After 7 days it is deleted automatically, and only aggregate, anonymous counts remain (see below).
- In memory only, and temporarily: message ids (so you never get the same recording twice) and a request counter (to prevent overload). These expire on their own, and in any case when the service is restarted.
Aggregate and anonymous data
To run and improve the service we keep aggregate counts — never tied to you personally, never sold, and never used for advertising. For example: how many messages, in what language and length, whether synthesis succeeded and how fast, the cost, which voice/speed people pick, and how often people return to the service. These numbers carry no message content and do not identify who sent what.
One thing you should know
On WhatsApp, your messages are stored by Kapso, the infrastructure provider that connects the bot to WhatsApp. The bot reads recent history from there to find messages that never got a reply (for example after an outage) and complete them. So while we do not keep your text long-term, it exists at Kapso under their policy.
On Telegram, your messages are stored by Telegram under Telegram’s policy. We read recent history there for the same reason: to find messages that never got a reply and complete them.
Services your text passes through
- WhatsApp / Meta — sending and receiving WhatsApp messages.
- Telegram — sending and receiving Telegram messages, and storing Telegram message history.
- Kapso — connects WhatsApp to the bot, and stores WhatsApp message history.
- Hetzner — the server that runs the bots.
- RunPod / Hugging Face — run the speech engine.
What we do not do
No tracking for advertising, no advertising, no selling of data, and no sharing of your content with anyone beyond the services above. No person routinely reads your messages.
